OUR MISSION

NYC Dance Week is a project by Tendu Inc, organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes, to promote diversity of dance in the City of New York. The organization provides free dance and fitness lessons to the community by partnering with local dance and fitness studios during NYC Dance Week and offers performance/showcase opportunities for emerging dance entities helping them gain exposure in the community through its NYC10 project.

Dance Week believes that dance contributes to the well-being of both the individuals who watch and perform it and to the community at-large. The event brings immense value to the people of New York by encouraging them to be active, to be healthy and to celebrate life.

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Where: TBA

In addition to offering free classes, NYC Dance Week created Dancer for a Day Program to provide deserving children and young teens who are facing unique challenges in their life the opportunity to dance, even if only for a day.

Dancer for a Day is a NYC Dance Week initiative that provides at-risk youth facing a unique challenge with the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a professional dancer.  In its fourth year, Dancer for a Day will choose up to 20 youth, ages 10-15, who want to pursue dance as a career, to participate in a day filled with class taking, a nutritional workshop, and a private performance & Q&A with a dance company.  We will also grant a few kids scholarship to take classes for the rest of the year.

If you know a kid who has passion for dance and deserves this experience, nominate him/her at by May 1, 2018:
