Dancer for a Day

BIG thank you to Dancewave, Richard Marsden of United Global Arts Program, Dancers UnlimitedLoading Zone Arts,  Linda Kuo, and Pia Tedesco for making this year’s Dancer for a Day a success!

In addition to offering free classes, NYC Dance Week created Dancer for a Day Program to provide deserving children and young teens who are facing unique challenges in their life the opportunity to dance, even if only for a day.

Dancer for a Day is a NYC Dance Week initiative that provides at-risk youth facing a unique challenge with the opportunity to experience a day in the life of a professional dancer.  In its second year, Dancer for a Day will choose up to 20 youth, ages 10-15, who want to pursue dance as a career, to participate in a day filled with class taking, a nutritional workshop, and a private performance & Q&A with a dance company.  We will also grant a few kids scholarship to take classes for the rest of the year.

If you know a kid who has passion for dance and deserves this experience, nominate him/her at by May 1, 2018:
