The organization moves beyond traditional dance forms to teach participants how all dance genres benefit mind, body and spirit.

Tian Wu

Tian Wu works in Finance but has been an amateur dancer for her entire life (since kindergarten to be precise). She loves trying different genres and has been exploring different dance studios in NYC since 2012. Being able to perform at a half-time show at Barclays Center was one of the highlights. Tian has been participating in NYC Dance Week for years and is glad to be part of the volunteer team this year.

Sami Sun

Sami Sun is a volunteer for NYC Dance Week. She is a native New Yorker who loves to dance. In high school, Sami started learning breakdancing but injured her wrist. In college, Sami joined hip hop dance troupes at both Rutgers University and while studying abroad at Peking University in Beijing, China. Professionally, Sami is an event producer & venue manager but when works over, she takes dance classes at various studios in NYC. She is volunteering for NYC Dance Week because dance is a passion and she wants to bring more awareness to dance culture and the dancing community.
